Arsenal are reportedly looking to hijack West Ham United’s £26m deal for Colombia international striker Carlos Bacca this summer, according to The Telegraph (10:16am).
The Premier League side, who finished second in the English top-flight standings last term behind eventual champions Leicester City, have been linked with making a last minute move to try and lure the AC Milan forward to the Emirates Stadium instead.
The 29-year-old, who has 33 international caps for his country, scored 20 goals and provided four assists in 43 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit last season.
Bacca, who won back-to-back UEFA Europa League titles with former club Sevilla, is wanted by the Hammers to spearhead their attack during the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign.
Slaven Bilic’s side have already had a £26m bid accepted by Milan for the striker’s services, but are still waiting on the player’s final decision.
This has seemingly opened the door for Arsenal to make a last-ditch attempt to snatch Bacca from under the noses of their London rivals, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger ready to offer the Colombian ace Champions League football.
