Arsenal defender, Calum Chambers is set to have a medical with Premier League new boys, Middlesbrough today, ahead of a season-long loan move to the club, according to Sky Sports News.

Despite having made 59 appearances for the Gunners since joining from Southampton in 2014, the 21-year-old has failed to make a first team stop his own, whether that be as a right back or central defender.

The form he showed on the South Coast before his £16m move proves that he has the ability to be a real asset to Aitor Karanka’s side as they look to fend off the drop an maintain their Premier League status.

The three-time England international has made just one appearance this season, scoring in his side’s 4-3 defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at The Emirates on the opening weekend.

Boro are unbeaten so far in their return to the top fight, with two draws with Stoke and West Brom, and 2-1 win over Sunderland in their first three games.
