Arsenal midfielder Kim Little will be sidelined for up to 10 weeks with a fractured fibula.
The 28-year-old suffered the injury in the Gunners’ impressive 5-0 victory at WSL champions Chelsea on Sunday.
Arsenal’s official website confirmed the news: “Following a heavy tackle in the 5-0 win against Chelsea, Kim Little suffered a fractured fibula and will now miss up to 10 weeks.”
Having contributed four goals and four assists in the opening four matches, the news will be a big blow for boss Joseph Montemurro.
The north London side are currently the women’s top-flight unbeaten leaders, scoring 21 times and conceding just three.
Little also found the net as Scotland secured their place at next summer’s World Cup for the first time with a 2-1 away win against Albania in September.
