Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny is set to join Besiktas on loan, according to reports.

The 27-year-old has yet to feature this season and made just 17 appearances in all competitions last term.

Now Goal report that the Egypt international is on the verge of sealing a temporary move away from the Emirates.

It’s claimed Besiktas has agreed a season-long deal with the Gunners and that the deal will go through in the coming days.

Elneny has won 75 senior caps for Egypt.

The ex-Basel star has been expected to depart the North London club this summer after falling down the pecking order under Unai Emery.

Galatasaray were thought to be interested but it seems they have now been beaten to the player’s signature by their Turkish rivals who will pay the majority of his £50,000 a week wages.

Elneny joined Arsenal in 2016 for around £5million and has played 89 matches for the club, scoring twice.
