Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Lorient defender Raphael Guerreiro.

It is understood that Gunners left-back Nacho Monreal could be on his way back to Spain before the close of the transfer window on September 1, meaning boss Arsene Wenger is seeking potential replacements.

The 21-year-old, who has earned two full international caps for Portugal, scored an impressive seven goals in 36 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit last season.

Despite being born in France; Guerreiro represented Portugal’s Under-21s this summer in the UEFA European Championships, helping his country defeat Gareth Southgate’s England 1-0 back in June.

With Kieran Gibbs becoming Arsenal’s first choice left-back at the Emirates this term, plus with Monreal interesting La Liga side Athletic Bilbao, the Premier League side are hopeful of completing a deal for the young defender if the Spaniard should depart.
