Arsenal need to offer extra £4million to land Dani Ceballos on permanent deal from Real Madrid

Arsenal are currently £4million short of meeting Real Madrid’s asking price for Dani Ceballos, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has become a fan favourite since signing on a season-long loan in the summer, making 12 appearances so far.

And, according to El Desmarque, the Gunners are keen to tie down the Spaniard on a permanent transfer.

It’s claimed that the North London side are eyeing a deal for around £26million but that Madrid are looking for closer to £30million.

Ceballos was more of a fringe player at Real Madrid.

Having received regular game time at the Emirates, the playmaker is now firmly in Spain’s plans for Euro 2020.

Ceballos has started the last two qualifiers for La Roja and has nine caps in all.

A star performer for Real Betis at the start of his career, the attacking midfielder moved to the Bernabeu in 2017 but played just 35 La Liga matches in that time.

This forced him to seek a temporary move away from the Spanish capital with Arsenal benefitting from that so far.
