Arsenal have reportedly been linked with a potential summer swoop for Turkey international ace Arda Turan, according to Marca and Talksport.
The Premier League side, who finished second in the English top-flight standings after pipping North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the runners-up spot on the final day of the 2015/16 campaign, are understood to be on high alert if FC Barcelona decide to place the attacking midfielder on their transfer list.
The 29-year-old, who has 94 international caps for his country and featured for Turkey at this summer’s EURO 2016, scored two goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga champions last season.
However Turan, who only arrived at the Camp Nou last July following his £29m switch from Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid, has been restricted to just nine league starts and could be offloaded by Barca boss Luis Enrique ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 term following the club’s capture of Denis Suarez.
The reports suggest that Barcelona are ready to listen to offers lower than what they paid for Turan’s services last year, with Arsenal linked after Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was pursuing him prior to his Atletico exit.
