Arsenal Predicted XI: We predict Mikel Arteta’s starting XI as his side host Burnley in the Premier League this evening

Arteta has not included Ozil for quite some time.

Arsenal Predicted XI: We predict Mikel Arteta’s starting XI as his side host Burnley in the Premier League this evening.

In any other campaign, Arsenal hosting a team in the relegation spots at the Emirates, usually resulted in a comfortable three points for the Gunners – that is simply not the case this season.

The North Londoners currently sit in 15th place in the Premier League table and given yesterday’s results, they can only rise one place with a victory this evening.

A Premier League win is easier said that done though, with Arteta’s side only winning four of their opening 11 league matches this term.

Manager Arteta will be desperate to bounce back from the disappointing north London derby defeat, where he would have felt his side performed well, despite a 2-0 loss.

In the Europa League, the Gunners cannot stop winning, so is it time he starts to field some of the players who are performing well in Europe?

Which players will Arteta pick to try and secure an important three points this afternoon?

Here we predict the Spaniard’s starting Arsenal XI to take on Burnley…

Goalkeeper:

One of the easiest predictions is that Bernd Leno will be between the sticks for Arsenal, The German is Arteta’s undisputed first-choice and has started all 11 Premier League matches so far this term. He will be aiming to keep a fourth clean sheet in this encounter.

Defenders:

Despite playing a back five in recent weeks, we feel Arteta will revert to a flat back four this evening. Kieran Tierney is expected to slot straight back into left back, with Hector Bellerin on the opposite flank. We feel Gabriel will continue his role in the centre of defence, but we expect Pablo Mari to gain the spot ahead of Rob Holding.

Midfielders:

If Arsenal are to succeed in this game, you feel there midfield pairing will have to be at the top of their game. We believe Arteta will trust the flair of Thomas Partey alongside the tenacity of Grannit Xhaka to get amongst this Burnely midfield and disrupt the flow of their football. Bukayo Saka has been Arsenal’s brightest spark in recent weeks and we believe Arteta will trust the young England international in an attacking central role.

Forwards:

Arteta has some decisions to make with his front-three. There’s no doubting that captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will start the match as he looks to add to his underwhelming tally of just two Premier League goals so far this term. But we expect changes in other areas with Eddie Nketiah getting the nod over Alexandre Lacazette and Willian returning to the side on the opposite flank.

Predicted Arsenal XI vs Tottenham: Leno; Bellerin, Gabriel, Pablo Mari, Tierney, Partey, Xhaka, Saka, Willian, Aubameyang, Nketiah.
