Arsenal Predicted XI: We predict Mikel Arteta’s starting XI as his side host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League

Arteta has not included Ozil for quite some time.

Arsenal Predicted XI: We predict Mikel Arteta’s starting XI as his side host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

Tonight’s encounter against Wolves has become a very big game for the Gunners and Arteta in particular, with Arsenal desperate for some Premier League points.

The North Londoners currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League table, but all three points today could see them rise quite a few places depending on other results.

A Premier League win is easier said that done though, with Arteta’s side only winning four of their opening nine league matches this term.

Their opponents Wolves will not fear a trip to the Emirates and with a single point separating both these sides it should make for a fascinating match this evening.

But which players will Arteta pick to try and secure an important three points tonight?

Here we predict the Spaniard’s starting Arsenal XI to take on Wolves…

Goalkeeper:

One of the easiest predictions is that Bernd Leno will be between the sticks for Arsenal at the Emirates, The German is Arteta’s undisputed first-choice and has started all nine Premier League matches so far this term. He will be aiming to keep a fourth clean sheet in this encounter.

Defenders:

Despite having a busy international break, Kieran Tierney is expected to slot straight back into an Arsenal back-three for this gave, having performed well at Elland Road. Alongside the Scot, we feel Gabriel will continue his role in the centre of defence with Rob Holding, who has started the last two matches, on the right side. This would leave the likes of David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi in reserve.

Midfielders:

Starting with the wing-backs, Bukayo Saka is expected to start on the left flank, despite having played 200 minutes for England over the international break and looking weary at Elland Road. On the right, Hector Bellerin, has been a regular League starter for Arsenal. Meanwhile, in the middle, Arteta will be without Thomas Partey (injured) and Mohamed Elneny (coronavirus), meaning Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka will get opportunities to impress. We also expect to see Reiss Nelson given a Premier League start following his impressive Europa League performances.

Forwards:

Arteta has some decisions to make in his front-three. There’s no doubting that captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will start the match as he looks to add to his underwhelming tally of just two Premier League goals so far this term. But we expect changes in other areas with Eddie Nketiah getting the nod over Alexandre Lacazette and Willian returning to the side on the opposite flank.

Predicted Arsenal XI vs Leeds: Leno; Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Bellerin, Saka, Ceballos, Xhaka, Nelson; Willian, Aubameyang, Nketiah.
