Arsenal will reportedly have to splash out a sensational £42m if they want to land France international forward Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The Premier League side, who finished second in the English top-flight standings after pipping North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the runners-up spot on the final day of the 2015/16 campaign, have been continually linked with a move for the Lyon striker.
The 25-year-old; who has 10 international caps for his country, but was not included in France’s 23-man squad for EURO 2016 this summer, scored 23 goals and provided four assists in 44 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit last season.
Lacazette, who has also been pursued by Premier League rivals Tottenham and West Ham United, is a long-term target for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
However Lyon are desperate to keep hold of their star striker, slapping a £42m price tag on his services, with the French side determined not to lose any other notable players following the £21m sale of defender Samuel Umtiti to FC Barcelona already this transfer window.
