Arsenal are reportedly on red alert with the news that Wolfsburg are ready to sell Julian Draxler for £55 million, according to the Mirror.
The Germany international, who scored in his nation’s 3-0 win against Slovakia at Euro 2016, has been a long-term target for Gunners manager Arsene Wenger, and could solve the Frenchman’s search for a forward this summer.
The north London outfit have already been thwarted in their attempts to bring Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy to the club, but could be tempted to move for Draxler, who can play anywhere across the forward line, with Wenger also believing he could play in the striker’s position.
Wolfsburg are ready to sell the 22-year-old, who scored nine goals in 34 appearances in all competitions last term, following their failure to qualify for the Champions League, but the huge price tag they have placed on the attacker’s head could be too high for Arsenal.
