Juventus have reportedly launched an audacious £25m bid to sign Chile international Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to Calciomercato (via the Metro).

However the Premier League side, who finished second in the English top-flight standings last term after pipping North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the runners-up spot on the final day, are unlikely to accept the Italian giants’ offer for their star forward.

The 27-year-old, who has 101 international caps for his country as Chile ran out Copa America champions this summer, scored 17 goals and provided 11 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners last season.

Sanchez, who arrived at the Emirates Stadium back in July 2014 following his reported £31.7m switch from La Liga’s FC Barcelona, has already played in Serie A given his spell with Udinese between 2006 and 2011.

The report suggests that the player’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, has told Arsenal that the forward wants out.

However they also suggest that the Gunners are unlikely to settle for £25m for Sanchez’s services, but could negotiate a deal if they receive a bid in the region of £34m.
