Arsenal will be hoping to restore their eight-point advantage at the top of the Premier League table when they face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Reigning champions Manchester City closed the gap to five points with a 4-1 victory over Southampton on Saturday, but Mikel Arteta’s side have the chance to move a step closer to the title on Sunday.

The Gunners have surprised many people with their performances this season, especially considering that they failed to qualify for the Champions League last term.

Regardless of whether or not they lift the Premier League title this season, it appears that Arsenal will look to bolster their squad this summer.

According to Football Insider, the north London side remain interested in Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo and will move for him once again this summer.

Arsenal chased the Ecuador international during the January transfer window, making a number of bids, with the highest said to be worth £70 million.

Caicedo is set to be the subject of interest from Arsenal once again this summer

The Seagulls rejected all of the offers, though, and Caicedo remained with the club until at least this summer.

Caicedo, 21, joined Brighton from Independiente del Valle in 2021 but didn’t make his debut for The Seagulls until February 2022.

Since then the Ecuadorian has been in fine form on the south coast, but his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

Earlier this year, Caicedo penned a new long-term contract with Brighton, keeping him at the club until 2027.

The report claims, though, that the extension was simply aimed at preserving the player’s transfer value.

Brighton were reluctant to sell one of their key players midway through the season, hence rejecting Arsenal’s offers for Caicedo in January.

Brighton could, therefore, accept an offer of around £70 million for the player this summer and Arsenal remain interested, despite signing Jorginho from rivals Chelsea back in January.

In total, Caicedo has made 42 appearances for Brighton, scoring twice and registering three assists.
