Premier League giants Arsenal have launched a staggering €100 million offer for Monaco superstar Kylian Mbappe, although it has been rejected by the Ligue 1 champions according to The Daily Telegraph.
The 18-year-old has burst onto the European scene this season after a remarkable campaign with the French giants, in which time he scored 15 goals and laid on eight assists in 29 league appearances to help Leonardo Jardim’s men end Paris Saint-Germain’s dominance by securing the title.
And with six goals to help Monaco reach the last four of the Champions League, including strikes against Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City, Mbappe has become one of the hottest properties in world football, and has thus attracted significant interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
And recent reports suggested that Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal, fresh from giving the 67-year-old a new two-year deal to stay on as boss, had launched a €100 million bid for the attacker, although that has reportedly been knocked back by the Ligue 1 winners.
The Gunners finished fifth this term and outside of the top four for the first time since Wenger took over the reins in 1996, but a bid of this magnitude will be exactly what Arsenal fans want to see from their club as they look to get back into the Champions League, and indeed fight for the Premier League title.
Yet with Monaco also reportedly turning down a sizable bid from Real Madrid, as well as another unnamed club, they aren’t in the mood to sell their prized assets, which makes any Arsenal deal for Mbappe, alongside their lack of Champions League football, quite unlikely.
