Arsenal should snap up these 2 Liverpool stars this summer

Arsenal missed out on a top four finish in the Premier League for the first time ever under Arsene Wenger despite beating Everton 3-1 on the final day.

The Gunners went into the last round of fixtures fifth in the table and needing a slip-up from either Manchester City or Liverpool as well as victory over Ronald Koeman’s Toffees to secure a Champions League spot, yet both City and Liverpool picked up the wins they needed to seal a top four berth.

And that means that Wenger’s Gunners will have to make-do with the Europa League next season, but before then they have a chance to salvage this campaign with victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final next weekend.

Nonetheless, Arsenal will quite simply have to strengthen next term if they are to sustain a title challenge and go deep in European competition, and as a result they could look to some of their nearest rivals in a bid to land the top talent required to compete at the highest level.

And one club they could look to raid is Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, so here are TWO Reds stars Arsenal must try and land this summer…

Emre Can

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can significantly improved as the season wore on, and was arguably one of the Reds’ most important players in the final few weeks as they clinched a Champions League spot.

However, the Germany international has yet to agree a new deal at Anfield, and with his current one set to expire next summer, they may have to brace themselves for interest this summer.

And Wenger’s Arsenal may be one side keeping tabs on the 23-year-old’s situation, as they themselves could do with strengthening their central midfield options ahead of next season.

Although Liverpool are unlikely to sell to a top-flight rival, the Gunners may benefit from an industrious midfielder like Can, and so should look to try and land him this summer.

Daniel Sturridge

The future of Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has been hot-topic for most of the campaign, and it doesn’t appear to be any clearer now we have reached the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has been out-of-favour for the majority of the season under Klopp, starting just seven times in the Premier League this term, and netting just three goals.

Reds boss has preferred Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, and Philippe Coutinho as his main frontline this season, but even when that is disrupted, it is usually Divock Origi who benefits.

And, as a result, Sturridge must surely be considering his future at Anfield, and one club who could seriously benefit is Arsenal, who themselves will need to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

They’ve been linked with the England star at times this season, and with Sturridge a proven goal-scorer at this level, they should look to snap him up this summer.
