Arsenal should snap up these 2 Manchester City stars this summer

Arsenal have given themselves a chance of recording a 21st successive top four finish in the Premier League going into the last round of fixtures this weekend.

The Gunners have won their last four matches to move to within a point of fourth place Liverpool, heading into their clash with Ronald Koeman’s Everton at the Emirates on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds host already-relegated Middlesbrough and are hot favourites to secure a top four berth, yet Arsenal will be waiting should they slip up.

Nonetheless, it has been a story of ‘same old, same old’ for Wenger’s men this term, with the campaign possessing another failed title challenge, another round of 16 exit from the Champions League, and several calls for Wenger to leave his post.

Yet should the Frenchman remain in charge, he will surely have to invest and strengthen the squad this summer to once again compete at the top of the division, and he may raid some of their nearest rivals in a bid to get the best players they can.

And one club they could look at is Manchester City, so here are TWO City stars who Arsenal must try and land this summer…

Yaya Toure

Much criticism thrown at Arsenal in recent seasons has been specifically aimed at their central midfield options.

Yet one central midfielder who has inspired City to Premier League titles and domestic honours in recent times is Yaya Toure, yet the Ivorian has still yet to agree a new deal at the Etihad, and as it stands will be available on a free in just a few weeks’ time.

And that’s a deal Wenger should be eyeing up given how well the 34-year-old has played once again this term, backing up his high level throughout his time in England.

Toure has the power to dominate midfield duels, and has even improved his defensive discipline this term under Guardiola, yet still goes on those industrious runs which have so often torn defences apart and won games for the Citizens.

Yet it looks like his City career could be coming to an end this summer, and if so Arsenal should pounce and secure his services ready for next season.

Sergio Aguero

Gabriel Jesus’ arrival at Manchester City has thrown into question whether or not Sergio Aguero has a future at the Etihad Stadium.

Brazil international Jesus moved to the club in January and then was thrust straight into the starting eleven at the expense of the Argentine, and it was that way for a while until Jesus suffered a fractured metatarsal against Bournemouth in February.

And in Jesus’ absence, Aguero once again reminded us all why he is one of the best strikers the Premier League has ever seen with 12 goals in 14 games, and that is why Wenger should do all he can to bring him to the Emirates this summer.

It seems clear that Aguero is not the sort of striker Guardiola wants in his team, whereas Jesus is, and that makes it difficult to foresee a future for the 28-year-old under the Spaniard.

Thus, Arsenal should get a deal done this summer.
