Arsenal take son of former Aston Villa striker on trial

Arsenal have handed a trial to the 12-year-old son of former Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel.

Tomy, a 12-year-old, has been developing his game in the USA with his dad playing for a number of clubs in the MLS, including New York Red Bulls and LA Galaxy.

Academy chiefs from the North London club had been alerted to the young Colombian, but it is unsure whether he will be offered a permanent place in the Gunners’ academy.

Juan Pablo Angel signed for Aston Villa in 2001 and spent seven seasons with the Premier League outfit, scoring 62 goals in all competitions before moving to the United States.
