Arsenal team news: Predicted line-up vs Brighton as Tierney and Bellerin look set to start

Arsenal play at the Emirates for the first time since Unai Emery was sacked last Friday as they take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday night.

That signals a first home match in charge for interim boss Freddie Ljungberg, who saw his side draw 2-2 at Norwich City in his opening game.

The point collected at Carrow Road leaves Arsenal without a victory in six Premier League matches and ninth in the table having only registered 19 points from their 14 matches.

So with three points very much needed, Ljungberg has some big decisions to make when selecting his starting XI.

GK: Bernd Leno

One of Arsenal’s better performers this term, the German kept his side in the game at Norwich and will continue between the sticks.

RB: Hector Bellerin

Didn’t start against Norwich due to a muscle problem but now he’s fully fit once again he should replace Callum Chambers for this home encounter.

CB: Shkodran Mustafi

Was handed his first Premier League appearance of the season against Norwich and, despite conceding twice, it’s unlikely Ljungberg will want to drop him after just the one game.

CB: David Luiz

Whether it’s been Emery or Ljungberg in charge, the Brazilian seems to be Arsenal’s first-choice centre-back despite a host of unconvincing displays.

LB: Kieran Tierney

Didn’t start against Norwich but with fans wanting to see the £25million Scot play, expect Ljungberg to pick him over Sead Kolasinac.

CM: Matteo Guendouzi

Has impressed in what has been a team underperforming this term and should expect to start once more.

CM: Granit Xhaka

Returned to the side for the first time in the Premier League following his outburst in October by playing the full 90 minutes at Norwich. He could now be set to start his first home league match since his fall-out with the fans.

AM: Mesut Ozil

Ozil was very much in and out of the side under Emery but the change of management is expected to make him a key player once more.

AM: Joe Willock

The academy graduate has caught the eye at times this term and, after starting at Norwich, is expected to keep his place.

FW: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal’s top scorer netted his 11th and 12th goals of the season at Norwich and will be hoping to add to that tally against a Seagulls side which has conceded 21 times in 14 matches.

FW: Alexandre Lacazette

The Frenchman is back up to full speed after an injury-hit start to the campaign. Netted both goals in Emery’s last Premier League match against Southampton and will start alongside strike partner Aubameyang once more.
