Arsenal have reportedly emerged as favourites to sign Championship starlet Ademola Lookman during the January transfer window.
The Premier League side, who currently sit two points above runners-up Leicester City at the top of the table, have been keeping close tabs on the Charlton Athletic winger throughout the first-half of the 2015-16 campaign.
The 18-year-old, who was playing Sunday league football with Waterloo FC back in 2014, has scored three league goals in nine appearances for the Championship strugglers this season.
Valued at around £2m by the Addicks; interim boss Karel Fraeye reiterated that Lookman is a crucial member of Charlton’s squad this term and is therefore not for sale, “Ademola has just started first-team football.
“He’s started very well but he’s got so many steps to take.
“I’m sure he won’t be sold in January and will be here in the long-term.”
Fellow Premier League giants Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City have also been scouting the Charlton star this term.
