This summer is set to be one of huge change for Chelsea, as new manager Mauricio Pochettino moulds his squad.

Both N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly have already agreed to leave Stamford Bridge in order to move to Saudi Arabia, while the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hakim Ziyech and Ruben Loftus-Cheek also look increasingly likely to leave.

Mason Mount has been heavily linked with a move to rivals Manchester United, with Pochettino and owner Todd Boehly looking to move a number of players on to reduce the size of the squad and raise funds for new singings.

Now, it appears that one of Chelsea’s most important players is edging closer to joining one of their biggest rivals.

According to Fabrizio Romano, forward Kai Havertz has already undergone part of his medical ahead of a proposed move to Arsenal.

The Germany international is expected to complete his switch across London in the coming days, with Romano claiming that the signing of contracts between the two clubs is the inly thing left before the deal is completed.

Havertz, 24, joined Chelsea from German side Bayer Leverkusen back in 2020 and has since endured highs and lows in the capital.

The forward netted the only goal of the game to earn the Blues victory over Manchester City in the 2021 Champions League final, securing the club the top European title for only the second time in their history.

Since then, though, the attacker has been inconsistent and he has failed to replicate the form he displayed during his time with Leverkusen.

In total, Havertz has scored 32 goals and provided 15 assists in 139 matches across all competitions for Chelsea.

Last term, the German netted just nine goals in 47 matches, including only seven goals in the Premier League as Chelsea recorded their lowest league finish in three decades.

The player’s current contract with Chelsea is set to run until 2025, and Romano had previously reported that the deal to take Havertz to The Emirates will cost £65 million.
