Arsenal have reportedly had a £2m bid accepted for England Under-21 defender Rob Holding, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League side, who finished second in the English top-flight standings behind eventual champions Leicester City last term, have been continually linked with a move for the highly-rated Bolton Wanderers centre-half.

The 20-year-old, who has featured twice for England’s Under-21 side, scored one goal and provided one assist in 30 appearances in all competitions last season as the Trotters suffered relegation to Football League One.

Holding, who is understood to have underwent a medical with the Gunners on Monday evening, was named Bolton’s Player of the Season during the previous 2015/16 campaign.

The report suggests that Arsenal will wrap up a deal for the young defender once personal terms have been finalised, despite interest from fellow Premier League rivals AFC Bournemouth earlier on during the summer transfer window.
