Arsenal have been quoted £40m if they want to sign Germany international forward Julian Draxler, according to the The Sun.

The Premier League side, who take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Thursday night, have been strongly linked with the Paris Saint-Germain winger ahead of the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old, who has 40 international caps for his country, has scored three goals and provided five assists in 23 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 giants so far this season.

Draxler, who joined the French club from Wolfsburg back in January, has netted 13 times in 48 games overall for Unai Emery’s side.

However, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has identified the German star as an ideal replacement for fellow forward Alexis Sanchez, who is set to leave the Emirates Stadium next month, with Manchester City firm favourites to land the Chilean.

Arsenal have contacted PSG about Draxler’s availability ahead of the New Year, with manager Wenger keen to secure a replacement for Sanchez before any January deal goes through, though Premier League rivals Liverpool have also been linked with Draxler’s services.
