Arsenal are reportedly plotting an improved and final offer of £33.7m for France international forward Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to Squawka.
The Premier League side, who finished second in the English top-flight standings last term behind eventual champions Leicester City, have been continually linked with luring the Lyon striker to the Emirates Stadium ahead of the new 2016/17 campaign.
The 25-year-old, who has 10 international caps for his country but was not included in France’s 23-man squad for this summer’s European Championships, scored 23 goals and provided four assists in 44 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit last season.
Lacazette, who came through Lyon’s youth set-up, was the subject of a failed £29.3m bid from the Gunners earlier in the transfer window.
However the report suggests that manager Arsene Wenger is now ready to cough up €40m (£33.7m) to land his fellow countryman from Lyon, after England international and Leicester City star Jamie Vardy snubbed a £20m switch to the North London outfit back in June.
