Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Italian duo AC Milan and Napoli ahead of the upcoming January transfer window, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who have dropped down to fourth in the standings, but only two points behind league leaders Liverpool, after Sunday’s 1-1 North London derby draw at home to rivals Tottenham, have hardly fielded the France international forward in the top-flight so far this term.

The 30-year-old, who has 56 international caps for his country, has scored three goals and provided two assists in eight appearances in all competitions so far this season.

However Giroud, who arrived at the Emirates Stadium from French outfit Montpellier back in 2012, has failed to start a single league game under manager Arsene Wenger so far, with his total Premier League playing time mounting to just 92 minutes.

The report suggests that Serie A sides AC Milan and Napoli are both keeping a watchful eye over the Frenchman’s situation in North London, who has 18 months remaining on his current deal.

Giroud has scored 85 goals in 195 games for Arsenal overall.
