France international striker Olivier Giroud is reportedly set for crunch talks over his Arsenal future, according to the Daily Star.

The Premier League side, who have dropped to fourth place in the English top-flight table following Sunday’s 1-1 North London derby against rivals Tottenham, have rarely opted for the forward during their 2016/17 league campaign so far.

The 30-year-old has scored three goals and provided two assists in eight appearances in all competitions for the Gunners so far this season, though he has only played 92 minutes of Premier League football this term, including no starts.

The report suggests Giroud is set to sit down with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as the Frenchman wants assurances about his future at the Emirates Stadium as he enters the final 18 months of his current deal.

Giroud has scored 85 goals in 195 games for Wenger’s side since joining Arsenal from French outfit Montpellier for a reported £9.5m.
