Arsenal have reportedly been linked with a surprise bid for Olympiakos goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez.

Spanish press have surprisingly suggested that the Premier League club have tabled an offer of £4.3m for the shot stopper, despite already signing Petr Cech from Chelsea earlier this summer.

Jimenez, who is a former Spain Under-21 international, kept 18 clean sheets in 41 appearances in all competitions for the Greek outfit last season.

It is understood that the Gunners are looking to sign a replacement for fellow goalkeeper David Ospina this summer, with the Colombian still being linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium before the close of the transfer window.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has already sanctioned the outgoing loans of Wojciech Szczesny and Emiliano Martinez to Roma and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively, meaning a late move for goalkeeper Jimenez could materialise.
