Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing a January swoop for Tunisia international Wahbi Khazri.

The rock-bottom Premier League club, who are already 11 points adrift of safety heading into 2016, are understood to have already made contact with French side Bordeaux over their prized playmaker next month.

The 24-year-old, who has 22 international caps for his country, has scored six and assisted six goals in 25 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit this season.

With Villans boss Remi Garde desperate to strengthen his squad during the New Year transfer market, the Frenchman hopes recruiting Khazri next month will add the all-important creativity needed to spark a miraculous second-half of the campaign at Villa Park.
