Aston Villa are planning a surprise move for Logan Bailly.

According to a report in The Sun Steve Bruce is interested in bringing the Celtic keeper to Villa Park after two seasons in Glasgow under Ronny Deila and Brendan Rodgers.

Bailly is currently third choice keeper at Celtic behind Craig Gordon and Dorus de Vries and has 12 months left on his current deal.

At 31 years of age he has experience of playing in Belgium and Germany and would be able to challenge for the number one stop as well as offering experienced back up.

Bruce would like to keep Sam Johnstone at Villa Park but the form of the on loan Manchester United keeper has attracted interest from Premier League clubs.

Villa will be involved in a major rebuilding exercise as soon as the transfer window opens with sorting out the goalkeeping position crucial if they are to get involved in the promotion race.
