Player of the Round: Eldin Jakupovic (Hull City)
The veteran goalkeeper was brought in as one of a number of changes for Steve Bruce’s side’s visit to the Emirates at the weekend, and the Swiss international pulled off the performance of the round to force the defending Cup holders into a fifth-round replay.
The 31-year old pulled off a string of saves throughout the match to deny Arsene Wenger’s side, who had 11 shots on target throughout the match. His most crucial stop came from an Alexis Sanchez free-kick in the dying minutes of the tie.
Team of the Round: Reading
Results have been mixed for manager Brian McDermott since his return to the Madejski Stadium, however the Royals have found success in the FA Cup. The Berkshire outfit are the only non-Premier League side with a guaranteed place in the quarter-finals after seeing off West Brom on Saturday.
It wasn’t an easy task for Reading, who had to come from behind after Darren Fletcher’s opener for the Baggies. Paul McShane’s equaliser saw them draw level, with Michael Hector and Lucas Piazon adding the crucial goals to put the Royals one step closer to another day out at Wembley Stadium.
Goal of the Round: Dimitri Payet – Second goal (West Ham United)
The Hammer’s midfield maestro had already stuck away a sublime free-kick earlier in the game, and put the cherry on the cake for Slaven Bilic’s side with a great solo run for their fifth goal against Blackburn.
The Frenchman turned Shane Duffy with a deft flick on the halfway line, before sprinting down the left-flank and cutting inside to fire the ball home.
