Reports suggest that FC Barcelona could tempt Liverpool with a £22.25m January bid for midfielder Phillipe Coutinho during the January transfer window.
The Premier League side, who sacked manager Brendan Rodgers on Sunday following their 1-1 draw at Merseyside rivals Everton, are wary of the La Liga giants’ interest ahead of a possible New Year bidding war.
The 23-year-old, who has 12 international caps for Brazil, has scored one goal in ten appearances for the managerless Reds so far this season in all competitions.
Coutinho, who arrived at Anfield from Inter Milan back in January 2013, scored eight goals in 52 games last term and is undoubtedly one of Liverpool’s most talented stars.
