Germany recorded the biggest win of the World Cup so far on Sunday as they thumped Curacao 7-1 in Houston, Texas.
Kai Havertz scored twice for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, who were briefly being held by the World Cup debutants after Livano Comenencia cancelled out Felix Nmecha’s opener.
Nico Schlotterbeck, Nathaniel Brown, Jamal Musiala and Denis Undav were all also on the scoresheet for the Germans, who now sit top of Group E and are on the verge of qualification for the knockout stages.
Away from the action, though, it appears that Chelsea may miss out in the race to sign a Germany international.
As per TEAMtalk, Bayern Munich are desperate to beat Chelsea to the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt and Germany full-back Nathaniel Brown.
The report suggests that the Bundesliga champions are hoping to wrap up a move to sign the defender this summer, despite interest from elsewhere.
Brown, 22, joined Frankfurt from fellow German side FC Nuremberg in 2024 and has since made more than 70 appearances for the club across all competitions.
His impressive displays have put him firmly on the radar of several clubs, though, and Bayern are said to have made fresh contact with the player’s representatives.
Chelsea are not the only Premier League side interested in Brown, according to the report, with Manchester United and Arsenal also said to be monitoring the player’s situation.
The Blues are on the hunt for a new addition at left-back following the departure of Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid.
Brown’s contract with Eintracht Frankfurt is set to run until the end of the 2029/30 campaign, but the report suggests that he is likely to leave his current club during this summer’s window.
