Bilic must drop these three West Ham men v Saints

Slaven Bilic takes his West Ham side to the south coast to face Southampton this weekend, looking to bounce back from a humbling 4-0 loss to a sensational Manchester City side in mid-week.

The Hammers will also be keen to avenge a 3-0 loss to Claude Puel’s side at the London Stadium earlier this season, whilst it will be a big day for January signing Jose Fonte, who returns to the club for the first time since leaving two weeks ago.

Bilic will be looking to take advantage of the Saints’ poor league form, having won just one in six, but must also be wary of the performances they have put in against the likes of Liverpool and Leicester in recent weeks.

The east Londoners go into the clash a point above the south coast side, who just pipped them to a place in the Europa League group stages last season, having recovered from a sluggish start to their campaign.

New signing Robert Snodgrass could well feature from the off, having made his debut from the bench against City in the week.

With that in mind, here are THREE players the Croat should drop for the trip to St. Mary’s…

Sofiane Feghouli

Whilst it was difficult for any West Ham player to stick out in the defeat to Manchester City, the summer signing looked ineffectual throughout.

January addition, Robert Snodgrass, showed some good signs after he came on and should be given the chance to show Slaven Bilic what he’s got from the off on Saturday, at the expense of Feghouli.

The West Ham captain failed to have the impact that Hammers fans have been used to over the years, struggling to pick out forward-thinking passes and playing in a rather restrained manner.

With the return of Cheikhou Kouyaté to the squad after the Africa Cup of Nations, Bilic may have to sacrifice his skipper.

Although the Ireland international didn’t really have a chance at stopping any of Man City’s four shots on target, the blow that conceding four will bring may warrant a change in between the sticks on Saturday.

Spanish shot-stopper Adrian hasn’t featured in the Premier League since November and will be chomping at the bit to make an impact at the weekend.
