Bishop Auckland FC striker Andrew Johnson netted his landmark 200th goal against Chester le Street Town on Saturday.

The forward’s penalty, plus further strikes from Ryan Noble and Alex Francis, sealed a thrilling 3-2 Northern League Division One victory for the visitors in County Durham.

Johnson said, “[I am] overwhelmed by all the messages I have received over the weekend.

“Thanks to everyone for the support and a massive thanks to Bishop Auckland FC management, committee, team mates and fans for helping me achieve 200 club goals.”

Head of Public Relations, Dean Maynard, added, “What an unbelievable achievement.

“Two-hundred goals in 209 games. Well done Andrew Johnson from everyone at Bishop Auckland FC.”

Club Chairman, Nick Postma, said before the weekend’s clash, “Andrew is the type of person every club wants on their books.

“He has a great character and commits himself fully to the club – both on matchdays and training sessions.”
