Three Championship teams are believed to be fighting it out for the loan signature of Republic of Ireland international Aiden McGeady this month, according to The Sun.

It is understood that Blackburn Rovers, Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday are all interested in signing the out-of-favour Everton winger in the forthcoming fortnight.

The 29-year-old; who has 76 international caps for his country, has made just one first-team appearance for the Toffees this season, coming in the 5-3 League Cup victory over Barnsley back in August.

McGeady, who once cost Spartak Moscow £9.5m from Celtic back in August 2010, is determined to gain some first-team football ahead of the 2016 UEFA European Championships this summer.
