Bolton Wanderers have approached Charlton Athletic to take striker Igor Vetokele on loan.

Trotters boss Neil Lennon revealed the Championship rivals have lodged an offer for the Angola international to join the club on an initial three-month loan deal.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Addicks last summer from FC Copenhagen for a reported £2.4m, has scored once in five appearances in all competitions.

Bolton have found the back of the net just four times in eight league games this term and have also lost fellow forwards Zach Clough and Emile Heskey to injury.

“We’ve made an approach,” Lennon confirmed.

“We’re waiting to hear if that will be successful or not.”
