Middlesbrough are reportedly closing in on a £4m deal for Leicester City forward David Nugent.
Boro boss Aitor Karanka has been on the search for a striker all summer, and has been linked with Blackburn Rovers’ Jordan Rhodes amongst others, but now he seems set to bring the former England international to Teesside.
It was unsure whether the 30-year-old would be keen to drop down a division having scored five Premier League goals last term, but he was left out of the Foxes squad at the weekend after a fee was agreed.
Nugent scored 22 goals in the 2013-14 Championship season as the East Midlands won the title and promotion.
