Borussia Dortmund will reportedly attempt to sign Belgium international forward Michy Batshuayi on a permanent basis this summer, according to the London Evening Standard.

The Bundesliga side, who defeated Hamburg 2-0 on Saturday in the German top-flight, have been impressed by the striker’s performances since arriving on loan from Premier League champions Chelsea on deadline day late last month.

The 24-year-old, who has 13 international caps for his country, has scored three goals and provided one assist in his first two games for Dortmund this season.

Batshuayi, who only arrived at Stamford Bridge back in July 2016 following his reported £33.2m move from Marseille, has netted 19 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions for The Blues overall.

However, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte allowed the Belgian to leave London on loan in January, after bringing in fellow forward Olivier Giroud from Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Although there is no option to buy in his current loan agreement at Dortmund, the report claims the German club will try to sign Batshuayi permanently in the summer.

He is valued at £22.5m, by transfermarkt.
