AFC Bournemouth are the frontrunners to land England youth international Lewis Cook this month.

The newly-promoted Premier League side, who currently sit four points above the bottom three after their goalless draw with Leicester City at the weekend, are keen to make the Leeds United midfielder the Cherries’ second January signing after acquiring Juan Manuel Iturbe from Roma last week.

The 18-year-old, who is an England Under-19 international, has scored once in 23 appearances in all competitions for the Championship outfit so far this season.

Cook, who is valued at around £5m, is destined to leave Steve Evans’ Whites during the current transfer window as Leeds owner Massimo Cellino is reportedly eager to cash in on the youngster whilst his own future at Elland Road remains uncertain.
