Erling Haaland’s sublime double earned Norway a 2-0 win over Brazil in the last 16 of the World Cup on Sunday evening.
In a game of few chances, the Manchester City striker broke the deadlock with a header ten minutes from time, before firing a long-range effort past Alisson to double his tally and Norway’s advantage.
Norway will face either Mexico or England in the quarter-finals on Saturday, while Brazil – and manager Carlo Ancelotti – exit the competition.
The five-time winners of the World Cup have suffered a number of early exits from the competition in recent editions, and they have once again failed to impress this time around.
Away from the action, though, it appears that one member of Ancelotti’s squad is set to undergo a medical ahead of a huge move to the Premier League.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, midfielder Ederson is set to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Manchester United.

He claims that the midfielder’s proposed move to Old Trafford has never been in doubt, despite some reports from Brazil.
Jacobs suggests that the 26-year-old will undergo a medical after the World Cup, which has always been Man United’s plan.
Ederson was a late call-up to the Brazil squad – following an injury to defender Wesley – although he didn’t feature at the tournament before Ancelotti’s side were eliminated.
Jacobs claims, however, that the Red Devils had always planned to wait until after the World Cup to complete a deal to sign the player.
Ederson joined Atalanta from fellow Italian side Salernitana back in 2022 and has since made a total of 180 appearances for the Bergamo side across all competitions.
His current contract with Atalanta is set to run until the end of next season.
