Championship clubs Brighton and Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both reportedly interested in signing Scotland international Charlie Adam, according to the Daily Star.

Both teams are understood to have set their sights on a loan deal for the out-of-favour Stoke City midfielder, who is eager to play more first-team football this campaign.

The 30-year-old, who has 26 international caps for his country, has failed to score in 19 appearances in all competitions for Mark Hughes’ side so far this season.

But Adam, who is reportedly on £40,000-a-week, has been restricted to just ten Premier League starts for the Potters this term.

Having not started a league game since November 28, Stoke are understood to be willing to allow Adam to leave the Britannia Stadium on loan this month, but they might ask for a loan fee.
