Chris Willock could be on his way to Parkhead this summer as Celtic target the 19-year-old winger as a replacement for Patrick Roberts, who is returning to Manchester City following his loan spell, according to reports in the Mirror.

The teenager is out of contract in the summer and would only cost The Bhoys a small fee, something which could prove attractive to the Celtic board as they look to strengthen ahead of what will obviously be a league title defence and a stab at progressing in the UEFA Champions League.

Willock has featured twice for The Gunners this season in the EFL Cup and could be tempted by the prospect of Champions League football next season, especially if Brendan Rodgers can convince the winger he will get first-team football at Parkhead.

Rodgers has a good track record of getting the best out of his signings from England, with Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair reaching new heights under the former Reading, Swansea City and Liverpool boss’ regime.
