Championship leaders plot £5m move for Argentine ace

Brighton and Hove Albion are reportedly eyeing a £5m deal for Argentina striker Jonathan Calleri.

The Championship leaders, who currently sit four points ahead of second-placed Birmingham City in the standings, are thought to be competing with Serie A giants Inter Milan for the in-form Boca Juniors forward.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton (Right) is eyeing a marquee January signing to help the club’s push for promotion to the Premier League.

The 22-year-old, who only arrived at the Argentine outfit from All Boys last year, scored an impressive 22 goals in all competitions last season.

Seagulls boss Chris Hughton is thought to be willing to splash the cash to persuade Calleri on a move to England, especially after he admitted his desire to play in the Italian top-flight amid interest from Inter.
