Charlton Athletic could offer a contract to former Arsenal, Leeds and Liverpool winger, Jermaine Pennnant, if they miss out on Wolves’ James Henry.
The Addicks had a £500,000 bid for Henry, 26, rejected last month, but they are to return with a fresh offer for the ex-Millwall man, who only has one-year left on his contract.
However, Pennant, has become another option for boss Guy Luzon.
The 32-year-old has been training with the Reds after turning down a new contract at Wigan earlier this summer.
A former England U-21 international, the 2007 Champions League runner-up has played for 12 different clubs in his career.
