Chelsea face Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday.

The Blues have beaten LAFC, ES Tunis, Benfica, Palmeiras and Fluminense on their way to the final, while also losing against Brazilian side Flamengo in the group stage of the tournament.

Enzo Maresca’s side will go into Sunday’s final in New Jersey as underdogs against PSG, who were mightily impressive as they swept aside Real Madrid with a 4-0 victory in the semis.

This summer has already been a busy one for the West London side in the transfer market, with no fewer than four players already arriving at Stamford Bridge.

Now, one of their current players appears to be edging closer to a move away from the club.

As per The Athletic, Chelsea have accepted an offer of £25 million from Bournemouth for goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.

The report claims that the Serbian has been given permission to undergo a medical with the Cherries in the coming days after the two clubs reached an agreement.

Petrovic, 25, joined the Blues from MLS side New England Revolution in 2023 and established himself as first choice ‘keeper during the latter part of the 2023/24 campaign.

The Serbia international was then sent on loan to French side Strasbourg ahead of last season, and kept ten clean sheets in 31 games during his time there.

At present, Petrovic is one of a number of goalkeepers in Maresca’s bloated squad, along with the likes of Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen and Mike Penders.

Petrovic follows ex-Chelsea ‘keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga – who has since joined Arsenal – in moving to Bournemouth after the Spaniard spent last season on loan at the south coast side.

It is claimed that the ex-New England star will sign a five-year contract with Bournemouth.
