Chelsea have reportedly agreed terms with Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic in a deal that will see him become the first signing of the Todd Boehly era at the club.

As per Italian outlet Sport Mediaset, the Croatian has agreed to join the Blues this summer when his contract with the Serie A side expires.

The report claims that talks between Perisic and his current employers over an extension have proved tricky, with the player wanting a three-year-deal, while Inter are only prepared to offer two.

The two parties are also some way apart in terms of wages, with the Croatian demanding just under £100,000-per-week, a lot more than the £65,000-per-week that Inter have offered him.

The 33-year-old has also criticised the club for leaving negotiations so late.

“I don’t know anything yet,’ Perisic told Sports Mediaset after scoring twice against Juventus in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday.

“With important players, you don’t wait to the last minute. You ought to know that too.”

Perisic has scored seven goals and provided six assists in the Italian top flight so far this term, and won the title last season.

The Croatia international’s versatility will appeal to Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, who has been on the lookout for both wing-backs and forwards.

Perisic has primarily been deployed as a left wing-back this term, but can also play in a more advanced role if required.
