Chelsea reached the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening with a 3-1 win over League One side Cardiff City.

Alejandro Garnacho’s second-half brace – either side of a Pedro Neto strike – earned Enzo Maresca’s side a much-needed victory in the Welsh capital, despite David Turnbull briefly equalising for the home side.

Enzo Maresca’s side will find out their opponents in the last four when the draw is made on Wednesday evening, but in the meantime it has emerged that the west London giants are in the race to sign a highly rated attacker from the Italian top flight.

According to CaughtOffside, both Chelsea and London rivals Arsenal are interested in Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, 20.

The youngster has been in fine form for the Old Lady so far this term – scoring six goals and registering the same number of assists – and the report claims that the two London sides have both been in contact about a move for the player.

Yildiz is under contract in Turin until the end of the 2028/29 season and, although Juventus are keen to agree a new deal, talks have so far failed to progress.

The player is said to be demanding an increase of around 300% on his current salary, however the Serie A giants have so far refused to agree to those terms.

It is claimed that Chelsea had an offer of around £61 million rejected for the player towards the end of the recent summer transfer window, although the Blues remain interested.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been monitoring the attacker’s situation and are said to have been in contact with his agent, Jorge Mendes.

Yildiz joined Juventus from German giants Bayern Munich in 2022 and has since progressed into the first team.

He has now played more than 100 times for the Old Lady across all competitions, registering a combined 39 goals and assists.
