Chelsea and Liverpool target Alex Teixeira will likely set either club back a whopping £39m during the January transfer window, according to BBC Radio 5 Live.
The Premier League giants, who currently sit 14th and ninth in the standings respectively, have both been heavily linked with moves for Shakhtar Donetsk’s in-form attacking midfielder this month.
The 26-year-old, who is yet to earn his first senior international cap for Brazil, has scored a sensational 26 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions for the Ukrainian outfit this season.
After Liverpool reportedly launched a £24.5m bid for the Shakhtar star yesterday; European football expert Andy Brassell believes Teixeira’s club in fact value their prized asset at around the £39m mark.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live that the Ukrainian giants “have an awareness of how much money there is in the Premier League”.
