Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly keeping tabs on Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.

The Premier League duo are keen to boost the number of homegrown players they have, and have been watching the young Saints star closely with a view to making a move next summer.

Despite being just 20, the England Under-21 captain has already racked up nearly 100 appearances in all competitions for the side from St Mary’s, and is known for his precision set-pieces.

Ward-Prowse, who only signed a new five-year contract in January, would command a large fee though, as the club have proved with the sales they have made in the last two summers.
