Chelsea and Manchester City are both considering moves for England international Jamie Vardy during the January transfer window.

The Premier League giants, who lie 15th and third in the current standings respectively, are understood to have made tentative inquiries over the in-form Leicester City hitman ahead of next month’s market.

The 28-year-old, who has four international caps for his country, has scored a sensational 15 league goals in just 17 appearances so far this season to spearhead Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes run to the top of the table at Christmas.

With the Blues concerned over the goalscoring form of star striker Diego Costa this term; plus City suffering several injuries to top goalscorer Sergio Aguero, both Guus Hiddink and Manuel Pellegrini are weighing up New Year swoops for the £30m-rated ace.
