Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing France youth international defender Malang Sarr, according to Sky Sports.

The Premier League champions, who completed a club-record £60m deal for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata on Friday, have been linked with another summer move, this time for OGC Nice’s highly-rated centre-back Sarr.

The 18-year-old, who has featured twice for France’s Under-21 side, scored one goal and provided two assists in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit last season.

Sarr, who was born in Nice and has been with the club since the age of five, is understood to have a release clause of £36m in his current contract.

However, Blues boss Antonio Conte faces stiff competition from the likes of La Liga giants FC Barcelona and Real Madrid for the youngster’s signature, who scored the winning goal on his Ligue 1 debut against Stade Rennais back in August 2016.

Chelsea have already signed fellow defender Antonio Rudiger from AS Roma this transfer window.
